This project is for education workers and organised by education workers. But we are not experts, which is why we have teamed up with some organisations and individuals who can give us the expertise that we need to succeed.

Our Organisations
Our Streets Now is the national campaign working to end public sexual harassment in the UK. We were founded in 2019 by two teenage sisters.
They started a conversation about how their lives were restricted by the fear of harassment, and it led to a movement.
Since our launch, we’ve been asked by local authorities, universities, sports teams, and workplaces to lead on work to make their public spaces safer.
We’ve delivered workshops and training to over 10,000 students, teachers and professionals. And in 2026, after seven years of campaigning, we successfully changed the law on public sexual harassment.

HASSL began on 31 October 2024 as a one-person mission. By May 2025, we had grown into a team of three – still running on limited funds, but moving at full speed to match the rapid growth of the movement. Today, we’re in Stage 3 of our five-stage plan, proving that even a tiny, determined team can spark big, systemic change.
Stage 1 - Building awareness, creating safe spaces, and amplifying voices to lay the foundation for change.
Stage 2 - Products and workplace training programs to fund HASSL, keep resources free, scale impact, and grow sustainably.
Stage 3 -Spreading the message globally through viral campaigns, an ambassador platform, and free downloadable educational resources.
Our future:
Stage 4 -Shifting the focus to society by partnering with schools, brands, and organisations to create systemic change.
Stage 5 - Developing tools and support to make reporting and accountability easier and more effective.
This toolkit aims to help NEU members take the steps needed to prevent sexism and sexual harassment.
What does a whole school approach to preventing sexism and sexual harassment look like? And how do we make it happen?
To properly address sexism and sexual harassment in schools, we need to address it across the school. To help ensure you are reaching all areas, the NEU has created this model looking at themes and threads across the school.
Changing culture takes time, it’s a marathon not a sprint! Change takes years, not one term or school year, and the NEU toolkit allows you to pick out the most useful first steps you want to take for your school. It also allows you to plan for the longer term.
All schools are starting from a different point, and we advise collective discussion and reflection as a staff group to identify first or next steps, given your context and community. This toolkit is designed for you and colleagues to select what’s useful and to adapt the content, and for you to pick and choose the elements and tools you want to use.
The toolkit is a developing set of resources for education workers to utilise as their setting best requires.
The Women’s Organising Forum are constantly updating, developing and delivering the It’s Not OK toolkit to members across the countries and regions.
